The Bermis name joins Berlin and Mississauga. After completing his electrical apprenticeship, founder Manfred Stohmann emigrated from Berlin in 1958, rose to General Manager of one of Canada’s largest electrical contractors, and started his own firm in 1989, naming it for his birthplace and his home. When Manfred passed in 2006, his daughter Tanya Stohmann, P.Eng. and Master Electrician, took over the reigns, steering Bermis through the worst recession since the 1930s, a pandemic and expanding it into new sectors. Many of our customers and employees have been with Bermis since inception. We design installations to serve you for the long term, not just the immediate job, and we aim to build relationships that last for years, not project to project.
